What is the "Hidden Fixing Pack"?

Our Hidden Fixing Set is a more secure and stylish alternative to the standard black screws and wall plugs. If you select this fixing method, you'll receive the following:

• 2 stainless steel rods (or 4 depending on the size of your sign) sized at 50mm in length

• a tube of super glue

You can refer to our Hidden Fixing installation guide for more help.

Please note, unlike screw fixings, this installation method is permanent. Removal will require breaking the sign.

I would like a custom font, can you do this?

Yes we can! Simply choose any font whilst personalising your sign. After you've selected all the options, click the yellow "Save Design to Your Cart" button.

After you've been redirected to the cart page, please specify the font name you'd like us to use in the white "order notes" text box.

We will contact you via email with a preview picture for you to approve or amend before we manufacture your order.

How much is shipping to the UK?

We offer free shipping on all UK orders (including Guernsey, Jersey, Isle of Man and Northern Ireland). We use Royal Mail Tracked 48.

Shipping costs for international orders are calculated at checkout, before you finalise your purchase. You can progress to checkout to see our shipping costs to your country, or you can read more about our postage costs and production times over on our blog.

Can you make my sign with no markings?

No, we are unable to do so. Since slate is a natural material, each tile will display distinct shades of grey and subtle flaws, such as discoloured areas and inert pyrite (aka fool's gold).

Do you offer discounts on bulk orders?

Yes we do. If you order 5 or more signs (any material, style and price) a 15% discounts is automatically applied at checkout.

What does "Laser Printed" mean?

The Laser Printed method involves using a laser to inscribe text onto slate, effectively burning the design into the surface. This technique stands as the more budget-friendly choice among our two engraving options, owing to its minimal material requirements and reduced production time.

The Laser Printed option is offered in a single colour: a warm grey, as illustrated in the preview image at the top of this page.

Be aware that as the Laser Printed finish reveals the inner surface of the slate, it will darken if it comes into contact with water. Nonetheless, the original colour is restored once it dries.

Do you do custom sizing?

We sure can! Please get in touch via email and let us know your desired dimensions for a personalised quote.

How do I put up my sign?

Fitting your sign is easy, all you'll need is a drill, screwdriver and a good eye. Refer to our installation guides for more help.

Don't have a drill? No problem! Select either of the fixing methods labelled Gorilla when making your sign above. Be aware that these methods do not work on brick, pebble-dashed walls or dusty surfaces.

If you don't intend on installing your sign anywhere, you can choose to have no holes or fixings when personalising your sign at the top of this page.

All our house signs are handmade from scratch in our little cowshed in Kent ↓

  • We repurpose the wooden crates our slate deliveries come in as planters.

  • The slate off-cuts we make go into filling local potholes on farms.

  • All of our packaging is plain paper, which is fully home-compostable.
